Seidl's design is a modern take on the classic coffee machine, with ultra-small dimensions that make it perfect for compact spaces. The Lavazza Inovy Mini is characterized by its precisely formed exterior shells, embossed with the Lavazza logo on the sides. The user interface, placed prominently in a circular element at the front, is simple and intuitive, with main touchpoints emphasized by metal accents.
The Lavazza Inovy Mini is not just a pretty face. It's also a powerhouse in terms of functionality. The machine is equipped with a single spout and a professional colour scheme, making it a serious contender in the coffee machine market. Despite its professional look, the machine retains its Italian charm in execution and finish. The product is also known as Classy Mini and Elogy Mini in some markets, with the latter being a special version for home use that offers the possibility for double espresso preparation.
Seidl's design was realized using a variety of materials. The main shell is made from plastic (ABS), with a textured/glossy finish, while the water tank is made from plastic (SAN). The drip grid and lever are made from metal, and the feet are made from silicone rubber. The machine is also designed to be easy to clean, with removable parts that are dishwasher safe.
The design process for the Lavazza Inovy Mini was a rigorous one, involving conceptual and formal research, 3D modelling, physical mock-ups, and prototyping. Despite the challenges of developing the project in a short timeframe and staying true to the established form language of bigger machines in the same business channel, Seidl was able to create a design that is both unique and functional.
With its award-winning design, the Lavazza Inovy Mini is set to redefine the coffee experience in small offices and hotel rooms. Its combination of Italian elegance and functionality is a testament to Seidl's design prowess and his commitment to creating products that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also practical and user-friendly.
